Wholesome Bellies has never been about putting people into boxes.
We’re not here to tell you how you should eat. Our philosophy is simply plant-rich, plant-focused and open-minded.
Plants sit at the heart of what we do because they’re one exciting way to discover a destination — through local produce, traditional recipes, markets and ingredients that may be completely different from what we know at home.
Our journeys are predominantly plant-based, but Wholesome Bellies is not a vegan-only travel company.
Vegans and vegetarians can travel with us knowing their dietary needs will be thoughtfully accommodated — this is something we specialise in.
At the same time, where it suits the destination, there may be opportunities to enjoy sustainably sourced fish or dairy as part of the local food culture.

There is no judgement around our table – just good food, curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

We don’t choose destinations randomly.
The places we travel to are chosen because we have a genuine connection to them and because we work with people who know them deeply — the language, the culture, the food, the stories and the way things work on the ground.
That local knowledge is central to every Wholesome Bellies journey.
Because there is a very big difference between being taken to a place and being welcomed into it.
Our journeys are intentionally small and intimate.
We’re not interested in mass-produced travel or large groups moving from one attraction to the next.
Smaller groups allow us to eat around one table, visit more personal places and leave room for the moments you can’t schedule — the market conversation, the unexpected restaurant or the extra coffee nobody is quite ready to leave.
We love a beautiful hotel, but luxury to us is about more than a star rating.
Where possible, we choose four to four-and-a-half-star boutique accommodation with warmth, character and a genuine sense of place.
We want somewhere comfortable and elevated, but still personal — somewhere that feels good to come home to at the end of the day.
The accommodation should complement the destination, not separate you from it.
Being welcomed into another country comes with responsibility.
We aim to support local people and businesses, work with local guides, keep our groups small and choose experiences thoughtfully.
Our plant-rich philosophy is part of that too — embracing seasonal produce and discovering the diversity of plants grown in different parts of the world.
This is at the heart of everything we do.
We want you to see extraordinary places, stay somewhere beautiful and eat incredible food – but we also want you to connect.
Life can be busy, an it’s easy to lose that sense of genuine connection with other people.
Travel changes that.
You share a meal, laugh over something that happened that ay, swap stores and before long, people wo arrive as strangers are sitting around the same table as friends.
